Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care, working within regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum aligned with an approved learning framework, while also ensuring compliance across various aspects of service operations.

They apply specialised knowledge and theoretical concepts to a wide range of workplace scenarios and may also be responsible for supervising volunteers or other educators.

In this course, you’ll study:

Work Placement
The CH50125 Diploma Early childhood education and care qualification has mandatory work placement hours.
Individuals must undertake a minimum of 280 hours of work placement in a regulated childhood facility.
Work placement can be completed at your current place of employment if all requirements can be met as per Assessment criteria.
If you are not currently employed in chosen industry, it is recommended that finding a suitable work place to complete work placement as soon as enrolled into qualification.

On successful completion of the course and assessment requirements, participants will be issued a Qualification Certificate and Transcript of Record in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs). If a student does not complete all units required, they will be issued a statement of attainment for the units completed.

Entry Requirements

  • Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who hold a
  • CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or
  • CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • In addition to above, the intended learners are also required to demonstrate prior to the commencement of Practical placement, that they:
  • Have Working with Children Check
  • Obtain a valid AFP National Police Check certificate with no criminal records reported/recorded
  • These are to be obtained by students at their own cost
  • Milcom Institute has the following admission requirements:
  • LLN and Pre-training review are required to be completed to assist in identifying whether this qualification is appropriate for the education and employment aspirations of the target learner and to identify student’s needs for additional support during their study.
